EA exec defends FIFA 22 loot boxes amidst controversy

By Ray Ampoloquio October 9, 2021

Despite the opposition from players and governments, EA remains committed to adding loot boxes to its games.

EA's Chief Experience Officer has even gone on record to describe loot boxes as an integral part of the game's design.

Chris Bruzzo describes loot boxes in FIFA 22 as a reflection of football in real life.

Bruzzo also claims in a recent interview that there are very few players below 18 who have EA accounts.

Bruzzo is effectively saying that there's nothing wrong with loot boxes and EA doesn't need to do anything about it.

Of course, the backlash that EA has faced over the years suggest that everyonebody else does not agree.

Unfortunately, EA does not have any incentive to make changes to how loot boxes in FIFA 22 and other games work.

Until governments clamp down on EA's practices, the company will continue doing what it has done for years.
