Two years later, Cyberpunk 2077 beats The Witcher 3 player record - again

With an all-time peak of 1.054 million players, Cyberpunk 2077 set the Steam record for the most number of players for single-player games on Steam nearly two years ago.

No one expects CP2077 to reach those levels again, we can't exactly rule out the same thing from happening again after the game's recent surge in popularity.

Cyberpunk 2077 has enjoyed a significant increase from the game's player count from the past few months after peaking at over 100,000 players in the past 24 hours.

We're curious to find out if the official numbers for the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 tell a similar tale, but we wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

With lifetime sales of close to 20 million copies, Cyberpunk 2077 is a certified hit that is well deserving of a sequel.

Unfortunately, CDPR is working on The Witcher 4 right now, so the next Cyberpunk 2077 game will have to wait for a long time.
