Big Ant Studios' first new Cricket game since 2019 was supposed to arrive before 2021 ends.

Cricket 22's original release date was on November 25, 2021.

Big Ant Studio's Ross Symons explained that the studio had to "update the game's cover art, other visuals, and team lists," due to unforeseen circumstances.

Professional Cricket player and former Australian team captain, Tim Paine, was supposed to be the cover star for Cricket 22.

Unfortunately, the international cricket star is currently in hot water due to a sexting scandal with a female colleague.

Big Ant Studios will now have to make changes based on Paine's removal as Australia's team captain.

Big Ant Studios will have to look for a new cover star for Cricket 22 in such short notice as well.

If all things go well for Big Ant Studios' last-minute changes, Cricket 22 will be released on December 2, 2021.
