Christmas Story Expendables spin-off to start filming in October
By Ray Ampoloquio August 19, 2021
The Expendables trilogy of films was everybody's favorite guilty pleasure of the 2010s.
The film featured an ensemble cast and brought together popular action heroes from the '80s to 00s', as well as more recent stars.
In total, the entire trilogy grossed more than $700 million in the global box office.
Weirdly enough, since 2014's The Expendables 3, there's been a lot of talk about sequels and spin-offs,
According to series creator, Sylvester Stallone, the first spin-off of The Expendables is set to start filming this October.
The Expandables spin-off film will go under the working title of Christmas Story.
This suggests that the story will revolve around Lee Christmas.
Jason Statham has portrayed the former SAS soldier and resident knives expert in all three of The Expendables films.
What is interesting here is that Stallone teased The Expendables earlier this year.
In addition to this, Randy Couture also suggested that the fourth installment would start filming this fall.
Having said that, you can't exactly blame Stallone for putting The Expendables franchise in the backburner for the past half-decade.
Stallone has been busy making appearances across different movie and gaming franchises in recent years.
With that said, Christmas Story is going to be an interesting film.
Here's hoping that it kickstarts the franchise and speeds up development on the other The Expendables movies.
