Capcom drops next-gen Resident Evil games update out of nowhere

Gamers now have another reason to pay Raccoon City and Dulvey, Lousiana a return visit.

First announced earlier this year, Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 got upgraded versions for next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series S/X and the PS5, today for zero added cost.

The Resident Evil franchise is one of the best-selling video games of all time, but it had its fair share of turbulent times.

Since seeing success with the series' seventh mainline installment in 2017, Capcom has released remakes of Resident Evil and 3 in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Having said that, the PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades of the already-excellent Resident Evil games will bring 4K resolution and higher frame caps, among others.

Playing Resident Evil 7, 2, and 3, on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X will make for quite the experience as each encounter with the series' villains become that much more terrifying.
