Black Widow star's legal team decries Disney's misogynistic response to lawsuit

It's been nearly a month since Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney.

In its most recent move, Disney appealed to move this legal battle to New York in an apparent attempt to keep everything under wraps.

In doing so, Disney might have just exposed itself, which allowed Johansson's lawyers to attack.

Disney revealed important information in its motion to move the arbitration to New York.

We learned that Black Widow made $367 million worldwide at the box office and $125 million from Disney+ Premiere.

The amount is a surprising revelation as streaming platforms very rarely reveal such information, but is probably a requirement of the lawsuit.

Scarlett Johansson's main lawyer, John Berlinski, then issued a response.

Berlinksi criticized Disney for attempting to "hide its misconduct" and that The Walt Disney Company is afraid of "public litigation".

Many cite Disney's simultaneous release strategy, which it has defended previously, as the reason for Black Widow not making "more".

With that said, we don't think that this is the last we'll hear of lawsuits similar to Scarlett Johansson's.

Several key figures within the movie industry have expressed their support for the former MCU star.

At the moment, Disney has proposed an October 15 hearing in DTLA.

Scarlett Johansson's legal team has yet to respond to this request.
