Batgirl star wants to face off against Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn

Warner Bros. has flirted with the idea of a solo movie outing for DC's Batgirl for a while already.

However, it wasn't until 2017 that development started.

With the upcoming superhero film confirmed to air on HBO Max, details have slowly emerged in recent months.

According to a recent report, the film's lead actress wants to crossover with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.

Leslie Grace secured the role of Barbara Gordon for Batgirl last July.

After turning heads in her feature film debut with 2021's In the Heights, several other DC stars have expressed their support for the newcomer.

This includes Margot Robbie, who revealed that she's open to working with Grace's Batgirl.

Robbie most recently starred as Harley Quinn in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

Robbie, in particular, has been a fan favorite for her portrayal of Harley Quinn.

Technically, Robbie's Harley Quinn has already starred with another Batgirl.

In 2020's Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn is joined by Cassandra Cain, who becomes Batgirl in the comics.

Given the success of the 2020 female-led film, it wouldn't be far-fetched to see Robbie reprise her role as Harley Quinn in a future sequel.

By then, Grace's Batgirl could end up joining her for the highly anticipated crossover.

Of course, for that to happen, the Batgirl movie will have to prove itself first.

Here's hoping that we get more Batgirl updates in the coming months.
