Netflix drops the first trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal's thriller film, The Guilty

Netflix is set to make an English-language remake of another award-winning international film with Jake Gyllenhaal tapped for the lead role.

2018's Danish thriller, The Guilty, won the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.

Now, Netflix's English adaptation of The Guilty is finally set to premiere.

To help commemorate this, Netflix dropped its first-ever trailer for The Guilty.

The story of The Guilty takes place one fateful morning inside a 911 dispatch center.

What initially appeared to be a typical workday for Joe turns out to be everything but.

As Joe desperately tries to make the most out of what little he has, he finds out that there just isn't enough help on the way.

From there on, the situation only gets worse and worse, with the trailer suggesting that not everything in The Guilty is as it appears.

As much mystery there is surrounding The Guilty, it won't be long before we know for sure what's going on.

The Jake Gyllenhaal-led film is set to premiere on October 1 on Netflix.

The Guilty will serve as Jake Gyllenhaal's first starring role in a movie after 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.
