We might not get a new Call of Duty game every year anymore, says leaker

Activision has released a new Call of Duty game every year for what feels like forever.
However, it appears that this is all about to change soon, as per the recent reports.
According to @RalphsValve, Activision is "in discussion for extending Call of Duty's annual releases."
@RalphsValve did not provide a possible reason for this, but declining sales is probably the prevailing factor.
After experiencing a huge spike in sales in 2019 with Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the sales for the next two years have declined by a huge margin.
If what @RalphsValve is saying is true, then Call of Duty will join Battlefield as former annual releases that have since changed its release schedule.
This would also mean that 2022 and 2023's planned Call of Duty games will release at least one year later than intended.
Of course, as this is all unconfirmed information, be sure to take it with a grain of salt.
