We don't think Task Force X will be making their video game debuts later this year.

After an earlier delay that later resulted in a May 26 release date for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, an earlier report before the weekend by Bloomberg suggested that Rocksteady Studios will delay the game to late 2023 for polishing.
But, if we believe Jeff Grubb, the still-unconfirmed delay could push the game out of the current year.
Idle Sloth spotted Grubb mentioning, on his Game Mess Decides podcast, that he's "hearing 2024" for the release date of the Suicide Squad game.
While Grubb clarified that he doesn't want to "cause a panic or anything", he adds that he has a "very good" source for the intel.
The State of Play showcase wasn't kind to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The developers opened the game to the public and the audiences didn't respond well. It's possible the studio could restructure the live-service elements of the game and do away of them completely following the backlash.
This is a big financial risk for Warner Bros. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the first game from one of its best video game studios. Arkane is behind the Batman: Arkham series. Thus, fans have high expectations for the studio's first non-Batman title. But, something tells us Warner Bros. saw this coming. The company might not have confirmed it yet but numbers-wise, it can afford to delay Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Keep in mind that Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed on the PS4 and Xbox One. We're expecting the same to happen to the Switch port. Both are expected to bring in huge money after Hogwarts Legacy nearly topped a billion on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X as well as the PC in two weeks.
Given that Hogwarts Legacy continues to sell well, including in Europe, Warner Bros. might expect the ports to make up for the loss of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League later this year.
Either that or Warner Bros. Games is planning to release Mortal Kombat 12 this holiday season so it won't have to go the last quarter of the year without a big drop.
