Fan makes impressive trailer for Waluigi in Super Smash Bros.

Waluigi isn't in Super Smash Bros., but you'd think that he was judging by this viral fanmade trailer.

The Super Smash Bros. franchise has been nothing but a smashing success for Nintendo. The series has amassed a massive following over the years and even spawned its own genre. Fans all over the world just can't seem to get enough of seeing their favorite characters from both Nintendo and non-Nintendo properties alike battle it out.

There's no official way to play as Waluigi in any Smash game.

Unfortunately, as much as Nintendo has tried to give fans what they want, one character that fans have asked Nintendo to add to the game for a long time still hasn't made his way yet.

Case in point, Waluigi is a fan-favorite character that hasn't been included in any one of the five Super Smash Bros. games.

Why isn't Waluigi available in any Super Smash Bros. game?

Keep your head up Waluigi. Nintendo will remember to add you as a playable Smash character soon.

Mario, Luigi, and Wario are all available to play in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In fact, all three have been available to play in a Smash game for more than a decade. Thus, fans are wondering why Nintendo hasn't added Waluigi yet. After all, Waluigi is just as beloved as the other three aforementioned characters from the Mario franchise. Not to mention, characters like Daisy and even the Koopalings, have all found themselves in a Smash game already.

If it's any consolation, there is a way to play Waluigi in a Smash game. A fanmade Project M mod makes Waluigi available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. King Bob Gaming then took it upon themselves to create a video of Waluigi receiving an invitation to a Smash game.

Nintendo never did explain why Waluigi isn't a playable character in a Smash game. At this point, he might never become playable, ever. It would be a shame if this turns out to be the case. Although we do understand that Nintendo put itself in a bit of a bind here - there's a potential problem if Waluigi were to become a playable character in a Smash game as Waluigi is already an Assist Trophy in Ultimate.

Having Waluigi available as a playable character and an Assist Trophy in Ultimate would confuse people. Either one would have to give. Otherwise, having both types of Waluigi in the game simultaneously would break immersion.

You can't really help but feel for Waluigi at this point.

With that said, we're not going to give up on our Waluigi dreams just yet. Nintendo still has to reveal one more fighter as part of its second Fighters Pass for Ultimate. Nintendo could use this to reveal Waluigi as a Smash character for the first time. Of course, recent rumors suggest that Nintendo plans on introducing a Pokémon trainer or Master Chief from Halo as the game's final fighter.

TLDR; you can hope and wish all you want, but there's a slim chance that Waluigi will join Ultimate or a Smash game anytime soon.
