Tiny Tina's Wonderlands now has a specific release date

After an early 2022 release window following its initial reveal, Gearbox has given Tiny Tina's Wonderlands a more specific release date.

After Tiny Tina starred in Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep in the fourth DLC campaign of Borderlands 2, everybody's favorite rascal is back. The only difference is that this time, Tiny Tina is going to star in her own spin-off in the appropriately named upcoming video game, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is the perfect Borderlands spin-off with a fan-favourite character as its poster.

When is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands going to release?

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was first revealed earlier this year, teasing fans about a game that's essentially the lovechild of the classic fantasy RPG, Dungeons & Dragons, and the Borderlands franchise.

As per the latest trailer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, audiences can expect some classic Borderlands charm and chaos.  But, make no mistake, this isn't just some half-baked plan to cash in on the growing mainstream popularity of Dungeons & Dragons. It's a respectful derivative that comes complete with everything from character sheets and even little figures walking around what appears to be a map.

The gameplay and atmosphere might give off a crazy vibe, but that's exactly on point, especially with Tiny Tina running the show.

Of course, gameplay trailers aren't the same as first-hand experiences. There's no way to tell if this Borderlands spin-off title is a hit or a miss. Luckily, we know already when Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is going to release. According to Gearbox, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will release on March 22, 2022, placing it alongside a laundry list of upcoming big games that's set to launch during the first quarter of 2022.

What's next for the Borderlands series?

It appears that Tiny Tina is just as unhinged and wacky in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

After Borderlands 3, it's become apparent that Gearbox wants to try something else if only for the meantime. With Tiny Tina's Wonderlands poised to release in March 2022, Gearbox can focus on that big Borderlands sequel that the company's CEO alluded to earlier this year.

With that said, there are more Borderlands that fans of the whacky and crazy looter-shooter can look forward to soon.

Case in point, the Borderlands live-action movie adaptation wrapped up filming last June 2021. Although the movie, which features an ensemble cast including Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Cate Blanchett, among others, does not have a release date at the moment, we highly doubt that the movie will take long in post-production. It should release within the next twelve months, if not earlier.
