The highly anticipated sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is finally out, and it's safe to say that it has lived up to its hype. But, to further smoothen things out, Nintendo dropped a Day One update that ails the game of minor maladies while adding language support.
Just as Tears of the Kingdom hit the store shelves, Nintendo rolled out a very welcome small update. This guarantees that a seamless gaming experience awaits all as it shows just how important it is for the company to maintain and improve the game's performance.
Here's everything that was added to Tears of the Kingdom as part of the 1.1.0 update:
- You can now use Korean and Chinese (Simplified, Traditional) characters for horse names.
- If the language of the console is not set to Korean / Chinese (Simplified, Traditional), some characters will not display.
- Fixed various issues to improve the gameplay experience.
While Tears of the Kingdom didn't have too many things that needed fixing at launch (unlike some other games we need not speak of), Nintendo encourages players to keep their copies updated.
This way, they don't encounter any potential issues while also allowing Nintendo a chance to identify other problems. This continuous feedback loop between the game's community and the development team is crucial to Tears of the Kingdom's success.
As one of the highest-rated games of the year and of the current gaming generation, Tears of the Kingdom helped prove that the Nintendo Switch is still plenty powerful.
If Tears of the Kingdom is indeed the swan song for the Switch, then Nintendo has done its job well. Switch owners can rest easy knowing that Nintendo did all it could to give its community a game that they will not be able to experience on other platforms.
Tears of the Kingdom is a must-play title and we can only look forward to more as Nintendo is all but certain to drop more post-launch updates, including presumably at least one massive DLC, to refine the experience more.
