The Division 2 continues to get the short end of the stick. After we were promised oodles of new content for 2021, Ubisoft went ahead and confirmed that it's had to delay the largest updates to 2022 earlier this year. As if that wasn't enough, the controversial studio just confirmed more bad news; both the upcoming Apparel Event and February Title update won't be coming until later in 2022.

The Division 2 update's delay is for the greatest good

Ubisoft made the announcement on Twitter, claiming that the delay is a necessary part of their goal to continue and "deliver the best The Division 2 experience". The studio added that this will help in their attempt to "restart a more regular update schedule on The Division 2" as the popular online action RPG turns three by next year.

Unfortunately, while this is all for the betterment of the game, it appears that the development team behind The Division 2 will go dark until the update is ready.

Ubisoft didn't go into much detail about why it had to delay the February update. As we mentioned earlier, the upcoming update should have been released in late 2021. Instead, Ubisoft decided to push it back to February 2022. Now, it's going to be delayed yet again for some reason. But, if it's any consolation, Ubisoft did promise that this was the "most ambitious" addition to the game that would help "pave the way for the future of The Division 2."

When you consider just how much is weighing on what was supposed to be the game's February 2022 update, it becomes that much clearer why Ubisoft decided to postpone it.

What is interesting here is that Ubisoft decided to move the launch of the Apparel event as well. At first glance, it doesn't seem that significant. Since Ubisoft didn't opt to launch it separately, this suggests that both the Apparel events and the larger update are tied closely together.

Thankfully, Ubisoft did not give The Division 2 players something to tide them over for the foreseeable future. Title Update 14 just dropped for The Division 2. Although it doesn't add too much content to the game, the end-of-year Hoarder is back just in time for the holiday season. Players can also participate in Santa Hunter too. Both will yield rewards if you manage to kill them.

In other Ubisoft news, the French publisher just revealed more details about the upcoming DLCs for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Meanwhile, Ubisoft's attempt to get into the NFT trend was met with much backlash.
