The Boys has unveiled two new supes, Firecracker and Sage, joining its cast for the upcoming fourth season. The highly-rated Amazon Prime Video show did this via a post it made on its Twitter account on Monday.

At the moment, there isn’t much information on what the characters’ roles will be. However, the images’ captions provide an insight into their abilities.
For Sage, the caption reads, "Meet Sage. She’s already a thousand steps ahead of you." If you consider her superhero name, this suggests Sage is clairvoyant with the ability to sense things before they happen.
On the other hand, Firecracker is introduced with, "And let's just say Firecracker has a short fuse." Alongside her superhero name, this caption would seem to suggest that Firecracker’s abilities have something to do with fire.
Amazon Studios renewed the show for a fourth season barely a week after the debut of the third season. Also, the showrunners first revealed that two new supes will join the show in August with Susan Heyward billed to play Sage and Valorie Curry billed to play Firecracker. However, this is the first chance for fans to get a look at the characters and their costumes, which Laura Jean Shannon created. By the way, Shannon is the costume designer behind Soldier Boy’s look in season 3, which many fans loved.
Heyward is best known for her role in Orange is the New Black as Tamika Ward. Her other credits include the HBO period drama Vinyl, OWN’s drama Delilah, and the upcoming Apple TV+ series Hello Tomorrow.
Curry is best known for her role as Katherine in The Lost Symbol, which aired on Peacock. Her other credits include Amazon’s The Tick and Lionsgate’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
In addition to Curry and Heyward, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who is best known for his roles in Supernatural and The Walking Dead, will join the show’s cast as a recurring character. But, unlike Heyward and Curry, the actor’s role in the show is still under wraps. Meanwhile, Giancarlo Esposito, who played Vought International CEO Stan Edgar in the show, recently teased his return to the delight of many fans.
At the moment, there is no set release date for the new season. However, given that the show is currently filming, fans can expect a 2023 release.
