The debate regarding the Game of the Year winner has reached fever pitch now that The Game Awards is just a week away. God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring are in a two-horse race for the top award and are expected to win in their respective categories. However, a lot of fans are also interested in the game announcements that will take place at the event, and Tekken 8 could feature.

We know that Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida, popularly known as Yoshi-P, will be at the event to present what we expect is the release date for the upcoming RPG. Blizzard is also expected to be on hand to announce the Diablo 4 pre-order and release date.
There are new reports Bandai Namco will attend the awards show. A Twitter user revealed what looks to be merchandise that the studio will be giving away at The Game Awards.

Fans have been wondering what the merchandise is. From the looks of the item, we guess that this is a keyboard mat or a t-shirt.
Tekken 8 was officially announced during the PlayStation State of Play last September. The reveal showed video footage of Jin Kazama fighting against Kazuya Mishima. The game director for the Tekken series, Katsuhiro Harada, said, "we are very excited to show the next generation of Tekken."
"The team at Bandai Namco Studios has been hard at work to bring groundbreaking new features to Tekken 8, pushing the feeling of power in battles continuously further by harnessing the power of the latest generation of consoles. We can’t wait to show you more in the months to come," Harada added during the announcement.
Hopefully, we'll have an official release date for Tekken 8 at The Game Awards.
There are also reports that EA will be participating in the awards show to reveal the release date of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The upcoming action-adventure game is a sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The Game Awards will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch on December 8, 2022, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
