Bandai Namco hasn’t announced the release date for Tekken 8 but it feels like the popular fighting game is releasing soon. In fact, the game is reportedly going into beta in the next few weeks, which is a good sign for its development.
The unannounced beta test that was added to the Steam listing for Tekken 8 suggests a closed network beta test is on the horizon. The addition was found on SteamDB and was shared by reliable gaming insider Wario64 on Twitter.
Tekken 8 has only been available in select location tests after Bandai Namco brought the fighting game to live gaming events. You'll find a ton of gameplay footage from these playtests online.

The rumored beta test for the fighting game may suggest that development is going smoothly for Tekken 8 and that the title is further along than expected. If a closed beta test is announced anytime soon, it is a good indication that the title will be released in 2024 at the latest.
While the beta test listing was found on Steam, it is highly possible that Bandai Namco would also hold a closed beta for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is coming to multiple platforms and the studio may want to test it out on every platform before its launch.
This is the second leak for Tekken 8 in recent weeks. The reveal and gameplay trailer for Bryan Fury was leaked online prior to its release. The trailer was accidentally leaked by Tekken’s official Instagram account and was immediately deleted but not before eagle-eyed fans downloaded the video and shared it on Reddit.
There are 17 total confirmed characters for Tekken 8 with Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima taking center stage once again. Both Jin and Kazuya have their Devil transformations available in the upcoming installment. Jun Kazama is making a return to the series for the first time since Tekken 3 as she was believed to be missing.
A new version of Jack called Jack-8 was already revealed by Bandai Namco. Though he sports an updated character model, Jack still retains many of the moves from previous iterations of the character.
It is possible that Tekken 8 would be featured in the Summer Game Fest which explains why Bandai Namco added a beta listing. The studio may be making a beta announcement at the event.
Tekken 8 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
