Zelina Vega's Royal Rumble entrance struck the mark as far as game announcements go. Zelina, who is well-known among wrestling fans as a devoted gamer, will be the newest addition to the roster of guest commentators in the upcoming Capcom game, Street Fighter 6.

WWE made the surprising announcement during Vega's entrance at the 2023 Royal Rumble event at the Alamodome in San Antonio. In turn, Zelina, whose real name is Thea Trinidad, dressed the part by cosplaying Street Fighter's martial artist, Juri Han. Queen Zelina made her way toward the ring, holding Juri Han's signature lollypop and pink cellphone from Street Fighter 6.
However, unlike Juri Han who fights barefoot, the pro wrestler chose to wear a pair of sneakers as a professional hazard. On top of all that, Vega proceeded to eliminate her opponent, Xia Li, using a Juri Han combo finishing move.
Following Vega's run at the Royal Rumble, Capcom officially confirmed the WWE announcement in a press release that included a statement from Vega.
Here's the full announcement:
Thea Trinidad, also known as WWE Superstar Zelina Vega, has climbed to the top rope and somersaulted directly into Street Fighter 6 as the newest addition to the in-game commentator roster. Thea, a longtime Street Fighter fan, brings her strength, style, and electrifying personality to the growing roster of illustrious color commentators in Street Fighter 6. She is a current WWE Superstar, self-proclaimed gamer, and no stranger to the Street Fighter franchise, even modeling her ring gear as Juri at this weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble in San Antonio, Texas.
"I’ve been an avid gamer since I was a child and a huge fan of Street Fighter," said Thea Trinidad. "I can still remember epic matches with my brother, and I would always beat him with my favorite character Vega. It’s surreal to now be a part of this amazing franchise and I am honored and thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity."
The Street Fighter 6 Real-Time Commentary feature incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators and personalities to narrate matches as they happen with easy-to-understand gameplay explanations. Recently announced play-by-play commentators include Jeremy "Vicious" Lopez, Ryutaro "Aru" Noda, Kosuke Hiraiwa, and Steve "TastySteve" Scott, with a tag team of color commentators including Thea Trinidad, H.E. Demon Kakka, and James "jchensor" Chen. This feature will support subtitles in 13 languages for increased accessibility and player excitement.
Street Fighter 6 will be the seventh main installment in the Street Fighter game series. The game will feature new improvements such as the two open-world modes, World Tour, and Battle Hub. Additionally, Luke, who made his debut in Street Fighter V's final DLC season, is set to become the franchise's new protagonist.
Street Fighter is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on June 2.
