Stray is coming to Playstation 4 and 5 on June 19

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to explore a decaying cyber city as a Cat? Not long before you can do just that.

A cute PlayStation console exclusive featuring a fleecy little Cat gets a June 19 release date. Stray is all about exploring a futuristic city and solving puzzles with the help of a friendly robot called B-12. In Stray, players will control a stray cat in third-person view, tasked to navigate the neon-lit city and solve mysterious puzzles to help return the Cat back home.

In addition to the release date was also announced that the game would be available on PlayStation Plus at launch for members having the 'Extra' tier or above.

A tiny amount of gameplay footage was shown during Sony's State of Play 2022 and revealed the Cat being completely out of place in the city of robots. The Cat was also seen having conversations with different NPCs, probably the vendors and quest-givers in the game?

The gameplay also showed the realistic animations of the Cat movement as it purrs away the incoming threat. In the blog post by PlayStation, Swann Martin-Raget, BlueTwelve Studio's producer, indulged and acknowledged the hard work that was put in throughout the seven-year development period.

From the very beginning, we knew that the controls and animations of our star character needed to be absolutely spot-on in order to properly convey this exhilarating feeling of skills and movement. So Miko, our cat animator, took the challenge to heart and spent considerable time looking for images and video references. The good and somewhat surprising thing we found is this: It really seems that the whole internet was basically invented for the sole purpose of hosting loads of cute cat pictures and videos! So we ended up having a lot of very good material to work with for references.

There's no doubt the animators did an outstanding job as it is apparent from the gameplay footage showing the Cat leaping from one ledge to another.

Moreover, it seems that the development team consists of 80% cat owners along with two cats named Oscar and Jun present at the studio. This shows that the game has been developed and backed by people who are genuinely passionate about the project.

We cannot wait to see what Stray has in store for all the cat lovers on June 19, 2022.
