Lucasfilm has released several posters featuring Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) from The Mandalorian Disney+ Star Wars show, one with bounty hunter Din Djarin and the other with Grand Master Jedi Luke Skywalker.

It has been over half a year since the explosive finale of The Mandalorian season 2, but fans are still reeling from the emotional conclusion. The cliffhanger ended with Grandmaster Jedi Luke Skywalker taking Grogu and fans have been anticipating the little Force sensitive child’s return.

To further whet fans’ appetites for The Mandalorian Season 3, a couple of exclusive posters have been released for Comic-Con.

Poster with the Mandalorian

The first poster has the titular Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) sporting his Beskar steel armor with Grogu and wielding the Dark Saber that he won against Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). The poster also features images of Moff Gideon, Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), and a bunch of Dark Troopers who were the main threat during the climax of Season 2.

Poster with Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker

The second poster has Grogu with the legendary Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). This poster is more of a tease than the one with Mando. Here, it presents Grogu beginning his training with Luke, assembling the parts for a lightsaber, including the Kyber crystal that is key to producing the ‘blade’ of a lightsaber.

A key point of interest in the Grogu and Luke poster is that the Kyber crystal is colored yellow. Kyber crystals, aside from being the focusing element that creates the business end of a lightsaber, also determine the color of the blade. This poster would certainly imply that Grogu will have a yellow lightsaber.

If Grogu is getting a yellow lightsaber, he joins a select few such as Rey Palpatine (Daisy Ridley) who wield lightsabers with that color.

Yellow is an unusual lightsaber color in the current canon of Star Wars (i.e. not including the Expanded Universe/Legends continuities). Thus far, only the Jedi Temple guards and Rey Palpatine (Daisy Ridley) at the end of Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker have been featured with a yellow-hued lightsaber.

The exclusive Lucasfilm Star Wars: The Mandalorian posters are produced by Trends International, with artwork by Joe Corroney (Legacy of the Darksaber) and Russell Walks (Size Matters Not). These Comic-Con exclusives are available through the Shop Trends website (https://shoptrends.com/sdcc.html), where other San Diego Comic Con (aka Comic-Con@Home) products are sold.

As The Mandalorian Season 3 is skipping a year and making way for The Book of Boba Fett, fans are in for a long wait before they get to see their beloved Baby Yoda again. But with how popular Luke’s newest pupil is among the fandom, expect Lucasfilm and Disney to continue reminding everyone of the lovable tyke through more products like these posters.

Plus, there is some good news. Disney+ will be releasing Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian – Making of the Season Finale on August 25. The special episode will provide a closer look at how the memorable Season 2 finale was produced, including the complicated process of getting Mark Hamill on the set and de-aging him through CGI, while also keeping Grand Master Luke’s return a secret for nearly a year before the episode aired.

Created by Jon Favreau, Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 1 and 2 are available on the Disney+ streaming service.
