The upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will continue the story of Cal Kestis, following on from the commercially and critically successful Fallen Order - and Respawn Entertainment may not be done with the story of the young Jedi just yet.

Stig Asmussen, game director for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor says that he envisions the series as a trilogy. This means that a third game is definitely on the table, and based on the games' successes thus far, it isn't unlikely either.
In an interview with IGN, Asmussen revealed that Cal Kestis will likely be returning for a third game in the series. He explains that the studio already discussed Jedi: Survivor even before the release of Jedi: Fallen Order.
"We were already talking about the second game," Asmussen said. "I mean, frankly, we were talking beyond. And these are conversations that, when we're breaking this story with Lucasfilm, it's like: 'Well, where are we going with the second game?'"
He adds, "I always wanted to see this as a trilogy. How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game? [...] And there's ideas of what we could do beyond that as well."
Asmussen also confirmed that a third game will most likely be using Unreal Engine 5. The first two games in the series were built with Unreal Engine 4, due to the lead time these big AAA projects require.
"I'm not going to say it's going to be easy. I mean, we have a lot of proprietary things that we've warped the engine into doing what it does for Jedi right now, and we would have to retool some of that to get it to work on any new engine," the game director said.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled to release on April 28, 2023. The game is a direct sequel to Fallen Order and will be set five years after the events of the first game. The plot follows the adventures of now Jedi Knight Cal Kestis as he tries to survive the in a galaxy ruled by the Galactic Empire.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
