After getting Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: Squadrons in 2019 and 2020 respectively, 2021 was a relatively quiet gaming year for Star Wars fans. Now, it appears that 2022 is going to make it up big. In addition to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on April 5, Respawn Entertainment's highly anticipated Fallen Order sequel might be released before the year ends as well.

Many consider Respawn's Fallen Order one of the best Star Wars games of all time, but you'd think that a follow-up might take a bit longer than three years. However, according to Tom Henderson, Fallen Order 2 is coming in Q4 later this year. The trusted insider, who also leaked information about the next Need for Speed game and Battlefield 2042 possibly going free-to-play, added that a "May 4th reveal now seems incredibly likely."
Several factors give credibility to Henderson's claims. For one, Henderson himself is a trusted source of EA information. In addition to this, May 4th is a significant date for Star Wars as it is a play on the franchise's famous line "may the force be with you." On top of this, EA "confirmed" Fallen Order 2 last year with Jeff Grubb hinting that a reveal might happen before E3 2022.
Things are set in motion to reveal the next Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game by Respawn Entertainment.

Even if Fallen Order 2 doesn't end up being released later this year, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga should be more than enough to tide fans over until it arrives. The highly-anticipated game from TT Games will compile all three Star Wars trilogies under one package. This would make the most expansive LEGO Star Wars game to date with several dozens if not hundreds of playable characters available at each player's disposal.
In other Star Wars news, Quantic Dream confirmed last December that it was working on a single-player Star Wars game set in The High Republic Era. Star Wars: Eclipse will serve as the studio's first action-adventure title after primarily working on narrative-driven games.
