Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a remaster of the original game.

The trailer, which is two-and-a-half minutes long, focuses on the game’s story. It introduces fans to some of the game’s characters, including major characters like Denam Pavel and Catiua Pavel. In addition, the trailer provides a snippet of the gameplay and demonstrates what fans can expect from the game and how it will proceed.

The game’s synopsis reads:

Based on the 2010 release, the game features improved graphics and sound, as well as updated game design, bringing to life a new Tactics Ogre that remains true to its roots. Tactics Ogre veterans will experience a game that surpasses their fondest memories, while players new to Tactics Ogre will discover a game unlike any they’ve ever played. Reborn and deeper than ever, the game enables players to immerse themselves in the world and intrigue of Tactics Ogre like never before.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a reimagining of the second game in the five-part Ogre Battle series titled Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. The original game was released in 1995 for Super Famicom before it was ported to Sega Saturn in 1996 and the PlayStation in 1997. The game was remastered for PSP in 2010.

The events of Tactics Ogre: Reborn take place in the Valerian Isles after the death of the Dynast-King Dorgulya Oberyth. Oberyth was a great ruler who strove to ensure peace for his people. Unfortunately, he had no heir and upon his death, three ethnic groups struggle to gain power, thereby throwing the kingdom into war and chaos.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn follows Pavel, the resistance fighter who gets caught in the civil war and rebels against his oppressors. He is accompanied on this journey by his sister, Catiua, and childhood friend, Vyce Bozeck. The game progresses based on Pavel’s choices, with each choice determining how the story develops and, ultimately, how it ends.

Apart from Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, the Ogre Battle series has four other original titles. Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen was the first game in the series. This version was released in Japan in 1993 before arriving in North America in 1995. The third game Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber was released in 1999, and the fourth, Ogre Battle Gaiden: Prince of Zenobia, was released in 2000. Finally, the fifth and final part of the series, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, was released in 2001.

In other news, Marvel has finally hired a director for the next Venom movie. However, there is currently no information on when the film will be released. Also, fans of Netflix’s The Witcher series have threatened a boycott if the streaming platform continues with its major casting change that sees Liam Hemsworth replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia from the show’s fourth season.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn is scheduled to release on November 11. It will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will cost $49.99 for either the physical or digital standard edition.
