The May 29 WWE Monday Night RAW episode promises to be a big one, being the first to follow the Night of Champions. The event, which takes place at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, will reportedly see incumbent superstars, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, appear to each discuss their recent exploits following the events at the Jeddah Superdome.
It can be worth remembering that Rollins beat AJ Styles to become the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion while The American Nightmare passed out in the vengeful Kimura Locking arms of Brock Lesnar.
Both matches were the culmination of weeks' long storylines that will likely continue going forward, especially the latter.
But, while we're expecting Cody Rhodes to continue feuding with Lesnar until at least SummerSlam, Rollins' name was in the rumor mill this past weekend as several sources had various claims. One, in particular, started talks that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title Match was the opener because Rollins had to jet off to continue filming Captain America: New World Order. But, as per Ringside News' Steve Carrier, this isn't the case.
It's now known that the WWE will have Rollins all to itself for the time being as he'll be present for this week's RAW after a couple of weeks of going MIA to fulfill his MCU obligations.
Interestingly enough, Rollins' full-time return following a dalliance with Hollywood marks the potential comeback of one of the WWE's foremost powerhouses, Drew McIntyre.
After a prolonged rumor-filled absence since WrestleMania 39, the two-time WWE champion is rumored to be making a return, potentially setting the stage for an explosive confrontation with Rollins.
McIntyre's return is interestingly timed with Rollins' freshly minted championship reign. If we were to guess, the WWE and McIntyre have agreed that he'll be the first to give Reigns a taste of a proper rivalry as the new king of RAW.
Whether it's the potential return of McIntyre or Rollins' first few days as the World Heavyweight Champion or whatever the WWE has planned for Rhodes next, fans over at Albany, New York, will undoubtedly be on the edge of their seats. As the story unfolds, one thing is for sure - the WWE Universe is in for a thrilling ride.
