The season finale of House of the Dragon has leaked online

You might want to watch out when you open your social media feed, for the internet is dank and full of spoilers.

Pirates were bound to land ashore and breach HBO's walls, to find a way and leak House of the Dragon online.

Season Finale House Of The Dragon Leaked
HBO would probably love to have the head of whoever leaked the episode on a spike.

Many moons ago, HBO found itself the victim of malicious leakers who'd stop at nothing to reap and rave its database in search for scenes and even entire episodes of Game of Thrones way before they went on air. One of the show's directors, David Nutter, even went as far as to tell fans to stay away from the "unfinished" episodes that found their way online as they're not representative of the final product.

Although House of the Dragon hadn't had such issues for its first nine episodes despite its immediate success, it appears that the scum of the internet was biding their time.

Season Finale House Of The Dragon Leaked
If you've watched the leaked version of the season finale, do everyone a favor and keep quiet.

HBO confirmed in a statement sent to IGN that the House of the Dragon Season 1 finale is available online, courtesy of pirates, two days ahead of its scheduled premiere this Sunday, October 23.

It's not clear how the leak happened but that's no longer important. These days, leaks are a matter of when and not if. HBO can at least be glad that the episode wormed its way online close to its actual launch. But, if you'd like to save yourself from spoilers, you might want to take a few days off social media. You can try and use Twitter's settings to mute certain words and phrases, but we're pretty sure that spoilers will always find you - as Thanos likes to say, they're pretty much inevitable.

Season Finale House Of The Dragon Leaked
We're hoping that the next few seasons of House of the Dragon won't take as long to come out.

The House of the Dragon Season 1 finale deserves to be watched when it's supposed to air. Otherwise, we'll all miss out on the communal experience of finding out how season one is going to end. Keep in mind, House of the Dragon might already be renewed for a second season (and a third one is all but confirmed already) but HBO hasn't announced when the next season will come out.

Thankfully, George R.R. Martin has put public pressure on HBO to greenlight the story for four full seasons. It's safe to say that House of the Dragon isn't going away anytime soon.
