The Saints Row reboot has gone gold ahead of August release

Deep Silver Volition's new Saints Row game was initially delayed from its original February 2022 release date.

We might have to wait for a long time for GTA 6, but a close facsimile is coming soon. Deep Silver Volition's Saints Row reboot will attempt to revive the games that once rivaled Grand Theft Auto.

All the early previews have nothing but praise for the Saints Row reboot.

We ranked the Saints Row franchise among the best copycat games of all time. It knocked off the best-selling series by Rockstar Games before finding its own voice. For a time, the Saints Row games enjoyed a fair amount of success. Unfortunately, things got way too out of hand with 2015's Gat out of Hell. This forced the studio to go back to the drawing boards and retool for the now-incoming reboot.

The new Saints Row game will come out on August 23. More importantly, unlike before, you can circle the date now that it has gone gold.

The reboot of the fan-favorite open-world action game series was first revealed last year as rumors of a sequel raged. Instead of featuring familiar faces like The Boss and Johnny Gat, among others, the new Saints Row game will feature an entirely new crew set in the fictional city of Santo Ileso.

But, make no mistake. Despite the change in scenery and characters, this is still Saints Row. So, if you've been craving for some of the comedy and action that the first three Saints Row games had, this is right up your alley.

With at least three DLCs planned for Saints Row, it appears that the game will keep us busy for quite a while.

In the meantime, you can keep yourself busy with the Saints Row Boss Factory. You can use the character customization tool to create custom characters ahead of Saints Row's launch in late August. This way, all you have to do is to transfer your character from the demo to the final build. Judging from what we've seen so far, you'll want to take this chance to build your character firsthand. The staggering amount of customization options will eat up a lot of your time.
