Rockstar Games is officially trolling us with GTA Online

The most recent GTA Online update contains a few lines specifically referencing how hopeful fans have been grasping at straws when it comes to GTA 6.

Rockstar Games has been working on GTA 6 for several years and the game likely won't be ready for a while. In the meantime, Rockstar is having a laugh at the expense of gamers, as evidenced by the studio's most recent promotional blog.

Rockstar Games loves to piss everyone, including its fervent fanbase.

As part of the newest GTA Online update, Rockstar published a new blog. A part reads as if Rockstar is either teasing or trolling gamers, and we're betting towards the latter.

Specifically, the blog is saying:

Every year comes with the hopeful promise that this year will be the year everything finally comes together.

Well, 2023 could be that year, so why not start clocking in on that 'new year, new me' attitude by taking a spino f the Lucky Wheel for the opportunity to win this week's grand prize, the HVY Insurgent, an off-road armored vehicle strong enough to take on adversaries and pesky off-road osbstacles alike.

Rockstar Games is the GOAT of trolls in the gaming industry. This is a developer who's made a living out of poking fun and satirizing everything, including politicians. All is fair game for Rockstar, including us.

Rockstar is making light of how the GTA community keeps on hoping it will finally announce GTA 6.

We're just hoping that Rockstar Games does GTA 6's female protagonist right.

For what it's worth, we might be inching closer to a full GTA 6 reveal. This might or might not happen this year, but it's bound to happen soon following last year's massive leak. Also, Microsoft thinks GTA 6 will be released next year. Finally, Tom Henderson, one of the first to claim that GTA 6 will be released in 2025, believes that GTA 6 will get an official reveal later this year.

If nothing else, this year marks the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 5. We're not saying Rockstar has anything planned for the celebrations, but it wouldn't hurt to hold out hope.
