- The film is set to release on May 3 but scheduling changes might occur due to ongoing strikes in Hollywood.
Fans are expecting big things from Ryan Reynold's Deadpool 3. While the filming has halted, it doesn't mean that the hype for the movie has died down.
Rob Liefeld, the creator of the Deadpool comic book character, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the first merchandise for Deadpool 3. Two new listings for the official Deadpool 3 Funko Pop have been shared by Leifeld on the social media site, saying, "The hype begins…"
The two listings are the first-ever merch for the upcoming film. Sadly, the Amazon UK post did not reveal anything about the new movie as they only depict silhouettes of the action figures. The Funko Pop figures have been labeled with the working title of the movie, Tidal Wave, and do not have character names attached to them.

We do expect both Ryan Reynold's Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to be the first Funko Pop characters for the movie. There may be many more characters from the Deadpool series featured as Funko Pop toys like Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Yukio.
There are rumors that Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius from the Loki TV show will be part of Deadpool 3. X-Men characters Jean Grey, Storm, and Cyclops have also been rumored to join the upcoming film alongside Jennifer Garner's Elektra. Other characters rumored to be in the movie are Channing Tatum's Gambit and Patrick Stewart's Professor X.
Funko Pop previously spoiled the identity of the new Black Panther when images of the action figure leaked before the movie was released. We will be keeping an eye out for any leaked Funko Pop images for Deadpool 3.
Liefeld has been really hyping up fans for Deadpool's MCU debut. In a previous interview with Nuke the Fridge, the comic book creator said that he knows some information about Deadpool 3 that "will melt your face off."
"The stuff I know it will melt your face, alright?," Leifeld said. "That's all I'm going to say, it'll melt your face!"
He was also asked whether any of the previous X-Men characters would be part of the movie. Leifeld revealed that Marvel asked for his input about the studio's direction with Deadpool 3.
"Look, here's the deal, guys. You know what, I was very honored," he shared. "[Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege] reached out to me late last summer wanted my input on some decisions. Then, we had a follow-up meeting with the producers. I was just honored that they wanted to have my input, and they would say, 'We're considering a lot of different roads, a lot of different paths.'"
Even with all the rumors surrounding the movie, Leifeld assured fans that "there is no way [they won't be] surprised" when the movie hits theaters next year.
Deadpool 3 is coming to theaters on May 3, 2024, but we do expect Marvel to announce scheduling changes due to the ongoing Writers and Actors strikes in Hollywood.
