Resident Evil 4 demo has a hidden hard mode

Fans have discovered how to change the difficulty setting of the 20-minute demo.

Just a week ago, Capcom released a demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake. Fans have already found a secret hard mode setting for the game. The release of Resident Evil 4 is just a week away and many fans have tried out the short twenty-minute-long demo by now.

The extreme difficulty mode features the Mad Chainsaw Man.

Many players have reported that the Mad Chainsaw Mode can be accessed after finishing the demo and starting over. According to the game’s description, the Mad Chainsaw Mode will only apply to a single playthrough and players will have to wait for the mode to be triggered again for another attempt.

The mode is also specific to the demo and will not be included in the final release of Resident Evil 4 Remake. The Mad Chainsaw Mode lives up to its name and makes the demo extremely difficult to complete. A big zombie wielding a chainsaw chases you around the town in this secret challenge.

The Chainsaw Man can easily rip players to shreds in a matter of seconds.

While at first, it seemed that the Mad Chainsaw Mode was triggered at random, players have found a way to access it through a series of button prompts. YouTuber 7rayD shared that the hidden mode can be activated on the PlayStation by holding down the L1 and R1 buttons, followed by pressing Up, Left, Down, Right, Square Triangle, Circle, X, and then X again to start the demo from the menu screen.

Xbox players can also access the secret demo mode by holding LB and RB, followed by pressing Up, Left, Down, Right, X, Y, B, A, and then A again. For PC, gamers have to hold down the Space and Shift keys, then press W, A, S, D, R, Tab C, F, and F again. Players on Steam need to disable the Steam Overlay before trying out the button combination to get it to work.

Resident Evil 4 Remake looks really promising based on the short demo.

This demo is just a small slice of the actual game but it let players know what to expect when the full version comes out. From what we have seen in the demo, Resident Evil 4 Remake looks very promising.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is scheduled to release on March 24, 2023, on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
