You'd think that Rockstar Games is preparing to reveal Grand Theft Auto 6 after seeing all the recent hype surrounding the upcoming GTA title.
All the commotion comes courtesy of Hip Hop Gamer, one of the most well-respected video game journalists within the industry. The online personality went on Twitter to post a picture of himself with the Take-Two Interactive CEO, Strauss Zelnick, where he mentioned that GTA 6 "will be a forever moment to remember."
Hip Hop Gamer also thanks Rockstar Games for what we can only presume is the opportunity to collaborate on something together.
#GrandTheftAutoVI GET HYPED IS ALL I CAN SAY!

The most obvious answer to what Hip Hop Gamer is hinting at is Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar and Take-Two could've brought him backstage, or to so speak, to have a peak at how the development on GTA 6 is going. But, this means that he's also under a strict NDA and he can't say more than what he already has. However, others believe Hip Hop Gamer is teasing his involvement in GTA 6. In addition to his work as a journalist, Hip Hop Gamer has plenty of experience in radio stations with his work on HOT97.
While most believe that Hip Hop Gamer shouldn't have made his recent tweet if he's under NDA, the fact that he's brave enough to do so suggests that he's got the green light from the ever-stingy Take-Two Interactive.
Ultimately, it's unclear what to make out of this tweet but it's safe to say that fans are hyped at the mere mention of GTA 6.
Besides, unlike previous leakers, Hip Hop Gamer does have some weight within the industry. Most recently, Hip Hop Gamer leaked information about the PlayStation 5 and its hardware specifications months ahead of everyone else, including Sony. Hip Hop Gamer was also among the first to drop juicy info about the development of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Coincidentally, the latest GTA 6 tease comes on the heels of news that a PlayStation Showcase is happening in May or June, which may or may not include the official reveal of Mortal Kombat 12.
Sony and Rockstar Games are long-time collaborators who've worked closely together for years. For example, all five of the previous GTA games, starting with GTA 3, came to PlayStation platforms first before being available on the Xbox and the PC. The same goes for Red Dead Redemption and its sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2. Furthermore, the PS2 version of GTA: San Andreas featured exclusive content, which lends credence to rumors that Rockstar could reveal GTA 6 at a Sony event.
