Check out the PS Plus Essential and Extra lineup for March 2023

Sony just confirmed the lineup for PS Plus Essential and Extra next month a lot earlier than most of us expected.

Sony just went ahead and outmaneuvered one of the industry's most popular leakers by revealing the free PS Plus games for March 2023 much earlier than expected.

Tchia feels a lot like another indie hit in the same vein as Stray.

As everyone was looking forward to checking out new Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League footage from this year's first State of Play event, Sony surprised all of us by confirming all the games coming to PS Plus Essential and Extra subscribers next month.

The free PS Plus Essential games for March 2023 are Battlefield 2042 (PS4 and PS5), Minecraft Dungeons (PS4), and Code Vein (PS4). On the other hand, the PS Plus Extra lineup is headlined by a day-one title, Tchia. The indie game is coming to the PS Plus library on the same day it launches on the PS4, PS5, and the PC, on March 21. This marks one of the few day-one launches over on the new PS Plus lineup following last year's Stray.

Several heavy hitters are joining Tchia to round out the new PS Plus Extra additions for March 2023. Arguably the biggest of them is Ghostwire: Tokyo, which only launched last year as a timed exclusive to the PS5. Two other notable additions to the lineup are Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Lastly, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will be available as well.

Battlefield 2042 has lowkey been improving in the past year thanks to the efforts of EA and DICE.

PS Plus Essential subscribers can redeem their freebies starting on March 7 while the PS Plus Extra and Premium / Deluxe subscribers will have access to the new titles on March 21.

All told, this is a significant haul for PS Plus Essential and Extra subscribers, value-wise. Don't be surprised if the subscriber numbers for PS Plus are up for Sony's next financial report.

In the meantime, PS Plus subscribers can still redeem this month's Essential giveaways until March 6.
