As if to make up for the relatively lackluster lineup of games that hit the PS Plus Essential tier earlier this month, Sony confirmed a plethora of award-winning games for the Extra and Premium tier of its popular subscription service.
According to Sony's latest announcement, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is leading the charge for the PS Plus Extra and Premium tier additions for the month.
A total of 23 games are coming to PS Plus next week, 19 of which will be added to the Game Catalog library while the other four are going to be part of the "Classics" lineup that's exclusive to the Premium tier subscribers.
Here's a complete list of all 23 games headed to PS Plus on May 16:
- Humanity – PS5, PS4
- Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart – PS5
- Watch Dogs Legion – PS5, PS4
- Bus Simulator 21: Next Stop – PS5, PS4
- Lake – PS5, PS4
- Thymesia – PS5
- Soundfall – PS5
- Dishonored 2 – PS4

- Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light – PS5, PS4 (Premium only)
- Pursuit Force – PS5, PS4 (Premium only)
- Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered – PS4 (Premium only)
With the addition of these new games, subscribers are going to have an awesome month. However, weirdly enough, we still haven't heard anything about a PlayStation Showcase before the month ends.
It's either Sony's plans have changed or we're still going to have to wait for an official announcement.
Our best is still on the latter but it's becoming less and less likely by the day.
Until then, you can keep yourself busy with the handful of award-winning games that just made it to the PS Plus library.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was a GOTY nominee in 2021 while Dishonored 2 and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider are a pair of critically acclaimed games that have only become more popular in recent weeks after Redfall's demise.
The complete Tomb Raider reboot trilogy is also available as part of May's additions.
It's unclear if this will mark the start of a monthly rotation of PS5-exclusive games for the PS Plus Extra and Premium library but it's nice to know that Sony is willing to beef up its offerings with some of its best and more recent games.
Fingers crossed, we'll get access to the likes of Horizon Forbidden West and God of War: Ragnarok via the subscription soon enough.
