Paramount Pictures unveils new Scream VI trailer

The official trailer comes after last month's teaser and it's living up to all the expectations it set leading up to its premiere in March.

Following a teaser trailer released last month, Paramount Pictures has finally released the first full trailer for its upcoming slasher horror film Scream 6 to its YouTube channel.

Scream 6 is set in New York City for the first time ever.

While the teaser trailer gave an inkling of what to expect in the new film, the new trailer adds depth and provides more insight.

The new trailer confirms what we already know from the teaser trailer, which is that the film will be set in New York City for the first time. After surviving the events of the previous installment, Samantha and Tara Carpenter ditch Woodsboro, where the vast majority of the series has been set until now, with the twins, Chad and Mindy Meeks, following in their footsteps.

Unfortunately for them, there is nowhere far enough to escape Ghostface’s shadow. They soon encounter a new masked killer who seems even more sinister than anything viewers have ever seen on screen. Besides, one of the film’s stars recently promised that the film will be gorier than its predecessor with its directors determined to go all out to provide fans with a truly satisfying slasher film experience.

Scream 6 will see Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox reprise their roles from previous installments of the film. The film will also feature new cast members Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Samara Weaving, and Tony Revolori who joined in varying roles a few months after Paramount Pictures approved a new installment.

The upcoming film will feature a lot more gore than its predecessor.

Unfortunately, Neve Campbell won’t be back despite appearing in every Scream installment till now. The 49-year-old actress stated she felt undervalued with the offer she got from Paramount Pictures; hence, her decision.

The Radio Silence duo of Matt-Bettinelli Olpin and Tyler Gillett will also don their directors’ hats again, while James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick return to pen the script.

Scream 6 is scheduled to hit cinemas on March 10, 2023. The film was originally slated for release on March 31 but Paramount Pictures did some in-house reshuffling which will see the film arrive earlier than originally planned.
