Paradox Interactive is announcing three new games next week

One of the games to be featured in the event comes from Cities: Skylines developer, Colossal Order, sparking rumors of a sequel.

Fans are expecting the sequel to Cities: Skylines will be announced at the upcoming showcase.

Video game publisher Paradox Interactive has announced an event scheduled for next week that will showcase three upcoming games. Fans are delighted that Colossal Order, the studio behind Cities: Skylines, will be part of the event.

The Paradox Announcement Show 2023 is scheduled on March 6 at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT. The program is set to feature announcements for three new games from studios working with Paradox.

Shadowrun Returns and Battletech developer Harebrained Schemes will be revealing a new game during the show. The Sims veteran Rod Humble and the newly formed Paradox Tectonic will also announce its first project.

However, the most anticipated announcement is coming from Cities: Skylines developer Colossal Order. Paradox teased that "the genre-defining studio behind global smash hit Cities: Skylines will reveal its newest incredible game."

Colossal Order has reportedly been working on a new game for years.

Colossal Order has reportedly been working on a new game for years now. Fans are hopeful that the studio will finally reveal Cities: Skyline 2 at the event. Anything other than a sequel will surely be a disappointment for the most loyal fans of the genre.

Cities: Skyline is probably the most beloved modern city-building simulation game available right now. Many fans of the genre see Cities: Skyline as the only successor of SimCity 4 which launched way back in 2004.

EA’s attempt at rebooting SimCity failed and effectively ended the franchise. Maxis Emeryville, the studio that developed 2013’s SimCity also closed down two years later after the disastrous launch of the game.

In addition to the new games being unveiled at the event, the show will also be featuring content updates for Crusader Kings III and Europa Universalis IV. There will also be "several announcements" from Paradox Arc, an indie-focused publishing label.

New content for Europa Universalis 4 will be announced at the event.

"I don’t want to say we have too many announcements, but it’s hard to choose which one has me most thrilled," said Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester said of the upcoming event. "Talking directly with our players about our games, sharing their excitement for what’s coming next, comparing how many hours we’ve played – it’s something everyone at Paradox profoundly enjoys."

He adds, "I’m also eager not to have to keep these announcements secret for much longer."

The Paradox Announcement Show 2023 is presented in partnership with Xbox. We expect that the games featured in the show will be available on Game Pass and Xbox consoles when they launch.
