Overwatch 2 reveals everything coming in new Season 2 trailer

A new hero, game mode, and holiday skins are coming in the new season.

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of Overwatch 2 Season 1. The nine-week season will be coming to a close on December 5.

Overwatch Season

Blizzard is hyping up its players by revealing details of the upcoming season through a short trailer. Season 2 will bring Overwatch 2’s first Tempo tank along with a new game mode and holiday skins. Blizzard will also be making balance changes to the heroes for the upcoming season.

Ramattra, the first Tempo Tank

Headlining the new season will be the addition of Ramattra. He is an Omnic tank hero capable of dealing long ranged projectile damage and devestating short-range blows to enemies. Blizzard calls Ramattra the “first Tempo Tank” as he can transform mid-battle depending on the flow of the game.

Ramattra starts off as a long-ranged fighter, dealing sustained projectile damage to his enemies from afar. When the need arises, he can transform into his Nemesis Form to get up close and personal with foes. In this new mode, he shifts to a close combat brawler with defensive bonuses and an overwhelming ultimate ability.

A new game mode

One of the highlights of the season will be the limited-time event called Battle for Olympus. In the trailer, Junker Queen gains the power of Zeus with her new mythic skin and has the ability to call down lightning strikes to take out entire teams. The new game mode adds Greek mythology-inspired skins for other heroes.

Blizzard has not shared a lot of details about the new game mode. The Battle for Olympus will run from January 5 to January 19 next year.

Aside from Ramattra and the Battle for Olympus, Blizzard is also launching a new Battle Pass for Season 2. The new Battle Pass contains holiday skins, cosmetic items, and more. Ramattra can be unlocked at Tier 55 of the Free Battle Pass or is instantly accessible upon purchase of the Premium Battle Pass.

In the trailer we see Bastion clad in a gingerbread inspired house, which will go well with the returning Winter Wonderland event happening later this month. Mei will get a new Rabbit-themed outfit for the Lunar Festival event happening on January 17 to February 6 next year.

A new map will also be added with Overwatch 2 Season 2 called the Shembali Monastery. This new arena will be for the Escort game mode. Additionally, Rialto and Blizzard World from Overwatch 1 will return during Season 2.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 kicks off on December 6, 2022.
