Nintendo is releasing a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet edition Switch OLED

The new special edition Switch OLED was revealed alongside a new trailer for the upcoming Pokémon game.

Nintendo never misses a chance to cater to the collector's market. Every notable exclusive that comes out always gets a special Nintendo Switch with limited edition colorways, just like our favorites: the Monster Hunter Rise, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon 3 special editions.

The new Pokemon Scarlet & Violet-themed Switch OLED will be available ahead of the game's release.

Having said that, you might want to add the new Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Switch OLED to your wishlist. The recently announced special edition Switch OLED is the second one after the Splatoon 3 colorway.

The new design features legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon illustrations on the front side of the white dock. The dock also has some silver accents and a glossy finish. The final touch is a small Pokeball design on the back side of the dock.

The handheld console will feature starter Pokémons Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, along with various symbols found in the game. Sprigatito is a grass-type Pokémon, while Fuecoco and Quaxly are your fire-type and water-type Pokémon. As with all games in the franchise, you will get to choose one of the three as your starter companion.

The backside of the Switch features emblems from the new Pokémon game.

The Joy-con controller will feature emblems of the Naranja Academy and Uva Academy. The controllers will also be in Scarlet and Violet colorways representing the version of the game in which each school can be found. Only one school can be accessed by each version of the game.

The special edition Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Switch OLED will be available in stores on November 4, 2022, and cost $359.99. The Scarlet & Violet Switch OLED is the second Pokemon-themed Switch after the Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee special editions which came out in 2018.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will have its worldwide release on November 18, 2022. The game will cost $59.99 for either Scarlet or Violet. The double pack will cost $119.99.

Nintendo is now accepting pre-orders for the game. We have not yet seen any pre-order bonus items or in-game rewards.

In other related news, the official Pokémon Youtube channel also dropped a new gameplay trailer. The "Seek Your Treasure" gameplay trailer gives us a sneak peek at some of the NPCs that players can encounter in the game such as Pokémon League chairman Geeta and upperclassman Arven. We also get a glimpse of Schedar Squad boss Mela and Pokémon Trainer Nemona.

The trailer also shows some Pokémon battles as well as other gameplay mechanics like the bike and glider.
