The new Chucky trailer proves that the Child's Play franchise is here to slay

The Chucky TV series will be the first small-screen adaptation of the Child's Play horror-slasher franchise.

Back in February 2018, Child's Play franchise creator, Don Mancini, was announced to be working with producer David Kirschner on a new TV series that will reportedly be canon to the original films. Later that same year, Brad Dourif's involvement was confirmed as he returns to be the voice of Chucky.

The upcoming Chucky TV series just got a new trailer.

Now, in 2021, the Chucky TV series has finally started filming after being delayed from its planned 2020 premiere date, with filming scheduled to wrap up on August 11.

Considering that it's only a matter of time before the Chucky TV series airs on Syfy and USA Network, a couple of teasers for the upcoming slasher-horror TV series have been dropped. The most recent of which first appeared at Comic-Con 2021 and showcases the series' maniacal evil doll, Chucky, in all his modern glory.

"Hi, I'm Chucky, Wanna Play?"

The new trailer is a great way to drum up excitement for the upcoming Chucky TV series.

True to one of his most iconic one-liners, "I Always Come Back!", Chucky just seems to keep coming back. After a failed reboot back in 2019, the Chucky TV series will continue on from the original films, which suggests that it is going to continue the story of the series following the conclusion of 2017's Cult of Chucky.

While all that we know of the Chucky TV series so far is the synopsis, there is a trailer that we can finally watch.

As you can see from the trailer above, the series hasn't lost its touch as far as letting an evil killer doll loose into the world to create some horror mayhem.

The Chucky TV series will revolve around a gay teen protagonist who finds solace in creating doll sculptures while coping with his mother's death and bullying at school.

In addition to the trailer, Comic-Con 2021 treated fans to a featurette of the entire Child's Play franchise, The Legacy of Chucky. It shows Mancini along with franchise veterans like Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise, as well as Brad Dourif.

Aside from Dourif and Mancini, Vincent and Elise will reprise their roles as Andy and Kyle, respectively, along with Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce and Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine.
