Netflix has pulled the plug on a lot of things lately. But, the streaming giant is still set to host a documentary on one of the most controversial sports figures in history.

The Ringer's Bill Simmons revealed on his podcast that the Netflix docuseries on the life of Vince McMahon is still in production, saying:
Think about that, he's had this thing - I'm working on this massive docuseries right now about him, which is, obviously, that keeps evolving - this guy has been doing this since 1976. This is his. This was a local promotion that he blew up into a whole thing, and I think he honestly kind of lost it, that it was doing well without him.
WWE and Netflix have been working on the docuseries for the better part of the past three years. The now-sole CEO of the WWE, Nick Khan, described the series as one of the most expensive Netflix series. It was originally meant to come out last year and the subsequent reports claim it was shelved, presumably after Vince McMahon stepped down.
But, with Simmons' latest statement, it's safe to say that the project is still very much alive.
Netflix has a good history with documentaries. One on Vince McMahon could be one of the platform's best outings yet. He has helmed the WWE for decades. The larger-than-life billionaire successfully took the company from a middling wrestling promotion he bought from his father to a worldwide sporting phenomenon unlike anything before it and since.
Unfortunately, with the WWE, and by extension, Vince McMahon, very much involved, it's not going to show stuff that the controversial figure doesn't want to be in there.
Speaking of the WWE, fans can look forward to watching Cody Rhodes return on January 28 at this year's Royal Rumble. WWE 2K23 will also be announced at the said event albeit the public reveal won't happen until a few days later on January 31.
