HBO's The Last of Us has done an excellent job at bringing the award-winning video game franchise by Naughty Dog to life. Although fans doubted it at first, but the casting for the characters, especially Joel and Ellie, has been on point so far
We haven't met everybody yet, but it stands to reason that future castings will be just as good if not better. However, if we believe what fans just spotted, the actress who will play Abby in the show's second season might be the best cast character yet.
Fans have been keeping an eye on Shannon Berry for a while to play Abby. The Australian actress has a handful of acting credits to her name, but she's best known for her starring role in Amazon Prime Video's The Wild. Her character in the drama series, which revolves around a social experiment involving "crashing" teenagers on a deserted island, has drawn comparisons to the vengeful Fireflies member, including her physique.
As a complicated character who's responsible for arguably one of the most gut-wrenching deaths in gaming history, Abby needs someone with depth and range to play her and Shannon could be exactly what HBO's The Last of Us needs.
With that said, we've no evidence that HBO's The Last of Us has already started casting for Season 2, which will adapt the events of The Last of Us Part II. Except, Neil Druckmann might have let it sleep that he's also got the Hunter actress in his sights if she hasn't already been cast as Abby yet. Fans noticed that the creator of The Last of Us is a follower of Berry on Instagram, who also follows Bella Ramsey, who portrays Ellie in the TV show, as well as the official The Last of Us account on Instagram.
Now, this could mean a lot of things, as The Last of Us is easily one of the most recognizable gaming franchises, especially among younger audiences. But, this does suggest that Druckmann is, at the very least, listening to what audiences are saying.

Given that HBO renewed House of the Dragon after the first episode premiered, fans have similar expectations for HBO's The Last of Us.
Either way, it will most likely be a while before Neil Druckmann and Craig Maizin casts someone from the second game. In the meantime, fans can check out The Last of Us Part 1 on the PS5 (for free if you're a PS Plus Premium subscriber) or on the PC on March 3. Also, we should be hearing more details about the multiplayer spin-off to The Last of Us later this year. Finally, Druckmann might have just confirmed that Naughty Dog is thinking about The Last of Us Part III.
