MultiVersus has just concluded a highly successful first season. The game’s maiden season was capped off by a nomination for Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards. Gamers and critics have been pleasantly surprised by the performance of the free-to-play fighting game.
MultiVersus just kicked off a new season with some big announcements. Season 2 will add a lot of new content, including a fan-favorite cartoon as a playable character.
Season 1 kicked off a few months ago with a surprise announcement that Black Adam and Stripe were coming to the game. Similarly, Season 2 of MultiVersus will add a new character in Marvin the Martian, from the Looney Toons cartoons.
Marvin the Martian is one of the many characters that faced off against Bugs Bunny in the Looney Toons. As his name suggests, he's from Mars, but Marvin is often found trying to conquer if not destroy our planet. Marvin the Martian wears a Roman Legion-styled armor linked to Mars, the Roman God of War. He wields the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, a space gun powerful enough to destroy a planet.
We expect that Marvin the Martian would be a Mage / Ranged class fighter similar to Bugs Bunny. He may employ his space gun as a primary weapon. Player First Games has yet to reveal when the new fighter is coming to the game.
Season 2 will introduce a new map based on the hit TV-show Game of Thrones. The map will be in the throne room of King’s Landing. The map features the Iron Throne and will include music from the TV series. The new map transitions dynamically depending on the action that takes place in the match. There will be some hazards and pitfalls that may catch players off-guard.
Season 2 of Multiversus will introduce a new Battle Pass to the game. Players can expect to unlock new badges, icons, banners, and taunts in Season 2. The Battle Pass will also include new character variants such as the Baker Street Tom & Jerry and Astronaut Velma, as well as new Ringout animations and more.
Finally, MultiVersus will optimize game performance even further in Season 2. MultiVersus is fresh off a patch that added "multi-path network traffic acceleration" to improve stability and latency. The update will improve the online experience of players.
