Mr. Terrific might be joining the DCU after James Gunn posts a photo tease

James Gunn teases the introduction of Mr. Terrific into the DC universe.

Mr Terrific Dc Studios

The future of DC Studios seems bright under the new leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran. The two filmmakers were recently appointed as the joint-CEOs of DC Studios, reporting directly to Warner Bros. Discovery's CEO, David Zaslav - a move that many fans celebrated. As a reward to his fans, James Gunn shared a photo of Mr. Terrific, possibly hinting at a project in the works.

With no text or caption, James Gunn posted a photo on his Twitter handle of The Modern Age Mister Terrific and his T-Spheres from the cover of JSA #76. Although Gunn did not confirm if there is a Mr. Terrific project in the pipeline, we can only assume that DC Studios is planning to feature the character somewhere in the future. Unsurprisingly, the photo invited a lot of attention and opinions from fans, particularly on who should play the role once a Mr. Terrific project is given the green light.

Among the actors proposed by fans are Lakeith Stanfield, William Jackson Harper, John Boyega, Sterling K. Brown, and Jonathan Majors. However, Sterling K. Brown and Jonathan Majors have joined the MCU, with the latter being cast as Kang the Conqueror, a role he's expected to play for several films in the MCU's Phase Five.

Be that as it may, Sterling and Brown could still play Mr. Terrific since we've seen other actors portray different characters in the Marvel and DC universes. Furthermore, Mr. Terrific has already appeared as Cult Holt in the CW's Arrowverse series Arrow, but DC Studios is unlikely to cast him in the DCU.

Mr. Terrific, whose alter ego is Michael Holt, is a superhero and a member of the Justice Society of America. A supergenius who's described as having "natural aptitude for natural aptitudes", Holt becomes depressed after losing people he cared about to accidents. While contemplating suicide, he is visited by the superhero spirit, the Spectre, who tells him the story of Terry Sloane, the original Mister Terrific. Inspired by Sloane's story, Holt chooses to become the Mister Terrific of the modern age and joins the Justice Society of America.

Mr. Terrific might feature in a future film about the Justice Society of America.

Following James Gunn's announcement that DC Studios is working on a 10-year plan for the DC Universe, the heads of DC Studios have implemented some significant changes, one of which is the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, as confirmed by his cameo in Black Adam.

Taking into account the introduction of the Justice Society of America in Black Adam, this presents DC Studios with the perfect opportunity to bring in Mr. Terrific.
