If the rumors are true, then Mescal will be the first member of the Fantastic Four to be cast. Earlier rumors suggest that Marvel is in final talks with Adam Driver for the role of Reed Richards.

According to rumors, there are four actors being eyed for the role of Johnny’s sister Sue Storm. Mila Kunis, Allison Williams, Jodie Comer, and Vanessa Kirby have been mentioned as potentially being cast as the only female member of the Fantastic Four.

Mila Kunis recently said that she isn’t in the running for the role. Vanessa Kirby is reportedly Marvel’s top choice for the role.

While Marvel hasn’t yet announced the casting, having Mescal onboard will surely excite fans. The actor is currently working on another movie project. Mescal will be starring in the upcoming Gladiator sequel. The first Gladiator movie starring Russell Crowe was a critical and commercial success as it earned five Oscars, including Best Picture.

The previous Fantastic Four movies were popular with fans in the earlier days of superhero movies. However, the films weren’t very well received by fans and critics. Marvel hopes to reboot the series and deliver a movie that is closer to the source material.

The upcoming movie will be a fresh take on the classic Marvel characters. Matt Shakman has been tapped to direct the movie while Josh Friedman is tasked with developing the script.

John Krasinski previously played the Earth-838 version of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt hopes to see the actor return as Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. However, the actor has said that his role was meant to be a one-off, dashing hope of his casting in the Fantastic Four movie.

Fantastic Four will kick off Phase 6 of the Multiverse Saga and will open in theaters on February 14, 2025.
