Legendary Star Wars actor, Mark Hamill, is known for a lot of things. His portrayal of Luke Skywalker is one of them. Another reason for his level of notoriety these days is due to his work as the voice actor for the Joker in numerous Batman animated films. A third reason is his often-hilarious thoughts about random things that he doesn't seem to mind sharing on social media.
What does Mark Hamill think of the Tauntaun sleeping bag?
Hamill has played the role of Luke Skywalker in six Star Wars films, among other appearances. He starred in the original Star Wars trilogy and would later go on to reprise the same role in the latest Star Wars film trilogy. He even appeared in Netflix's The Mandalorian as Luke.
While his portrayal of Luke Skywalker will forever remain iconic, what really endears fans of Hamill is his penchant for entertaining everyone over on Twitter, with his reactions to Star Wars merchandise.
In his latest reaction, Mark Hamill talked about the Tauntaun sleeping bag.
Now, before we go on about Hamill's thoughts, let's refresh everybody's memories first. The Tauntaun are reptile-like creatures that are native to Hoth. The snowy planet saw Harrison Ford's Han Solo demonstrate his growing concern for Luke Skywalker by venturing deep into the freezing cold to find Luke and keep him alive by covering him up with the body of a dead Tauntaun.
It's safe to say that Hamill doesn't have fond memories of the Tauntaun, which is exactly what he implied in his recent Tweet below:
What child wouldn't cherish the opportunity to cuddle up & drift off to dreamland snuggling inside the warm innards of a disemboweled Tauntaun? The inner-lining with detailed intestines makes this a must-have item for animal abuse aficionados everywhere! #StarWeirdMerchandise 😩 https://t.co/XQjNAsBjLD

Of course, we all know enough not to take Hamill's ribbing of this piece of #StarWeirdMerchandise seriously. He's a fun guy who just happens to love messing around and making fun of the franchise that's made some pretty questionable decisions of late.
What's arguably the funniest thing about the Tauntaun sleeping bag that's pictured in his Tweet is that it all started as an April Fool's Day joke way back in 2009. ThinkGeek clearly didn't intend to turn it into a real product. However, as the demand for the morbidly cute product rose over the years, ThinkGeek later decided to start selling it, albeit with a different design.
If you're wondering where we'll get a chance to see or hear from Hamill next, we've got good news. We've just learned, via another tweet from Hamill that filming of Burt Kreischer's feature film, The Machine, has wrapped up. This means that it's only a matter of time before we see Mark Hamill appear on the big screen.
He'll be starring alongside Jimmy Tatro, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jess Gabor, Mercedes De La Cruz, and Burt Kreischer, in a film that's partly based on Kreischer's now-famous story of him robbing trains with the Russian mob as a college student while in Serbia.
