Loop Hero Resources Guide

The old-school-style RPG adds innovative gameplay like deck building and tactical strategy to create a game that you can spend hours and hours on. However, this retro RPG must not be taken lightly, as one decision can cause you death and resource loss. This article will discuss all the resources you can obtain in Loop Hero and how to best utilize them.

What are resources and how do you get them?

Resources can be dropped by enemies or tiles.

Resources let you build structures and camp buildings that give you crucial items like potions and new cards to play. You can get resources by defeating enemies, using and transforming your cards, and finishing loops. You can also get scrap resources throughout the game and these scrap resources can be combined to create more resources.

Below is the list of resources you can get in Loop Hero and how you can get them.

Astral Orb

Astral Orb is dropped by the mage and cosmic-type enemies.

The Astral Orb is a tier 3 resource that can be challenging to get. The enemy that drops this card can be rare, especially during the early stages of the game. The Astral Orb is used to build the Alchemist Tent.

Book of Memories

The Book of memories is dropped by tomes.

Book of Memories is a tier 2 resource that is necessary for unlocking the Articles in the Encyclopedia.

  • Cemetery

Food Supply

Food Supply is dropped by the treasury card and defeating enemies.

The Food Supply is a tier 2 resource that is needed to build the Field Kitchen, Herbalist's Hut, Smithy, Refuge, and Smelter.

Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis can be gained from transforming tiles.

Metamorphosis is a tier 2 resource that is gained from transforming tiles. This resource is needed to build the Farm, Smelter, and Supply Depot.

Orb of Afterlife

The Orb of Afterlife is dropped by Undead and Vampire-type enemies.

The Orb of Afterlife is a tier 3 resource that can be gained from Undead and Vampire enemies. This resource is needed to upgrade the Potion Maker's Hut.

The Orb of Crafts is dropped by Artificial and Object-type enemies.

The Orb of Crafts is another tier 3 resource that is dropped by Artificial and Object enemies. You can use this resource to upgrade the Gym and Smithy.

Orb of Evolution

The Orb of Evolution is dropped by Plant and Living-type enemies.

The Orb of Evolution is a tier 3 resource that can be made from Living Fabric and is necessary for upgrading the Canteen.

Orb of Expansion

Orb of Expansion is dropped when you defeat four or more enemies.

The Orb of Expansion is a tier 3 resource that can only be gained by fighting four or more enemies at once. This resource is needed to upgrade the Canteen, Potion Maker's Hut, and Smithy.

  • 4+ Enemies

Orb of Immortality

The Orb of Immortality is dropped by Chapter bosses.

The Orb of Immortality is a Tier 3 Resource that can only be dropped by Chapter Bosses. You can use this to recover all the resources you gained when the hero dies.

Where to get: Defeating Boss enemies

Orb of Unity

The Orb of Unity is dropped by liquid and swarm-type enemies.

The Orb of Unity is a tier 3 resource that is dropped by Swarm and Liquid enemies.

Fragment: 10 Shapeless Mass

  • Ghost of a Ghost
  • Swarm of Bats

Preserved Rock

The Preserved Rock can be gained from rock and mountain cards.

Preserved rock is a tier 2 resource that is needed for building the Field Kitchen, Herbalist's Hut, Smithy, Farm, and Smelter.

Fragment: 10 Preserved Pebbles

Where to get:

  • Rock
  • Mountain
  • Treasury

Stable Metal

The Stable Metal can be gained from forgotten equipment in your inventory.

Stable Metal is another tier 2 resource material that is gained from Scrap Metals and forgotten equipment in the inventory. The Stable Metal is needed for building the Smithy, Farm, Gym, and Refuge.

Fragment: 13 Scrap Metal

Where to get:

  • Treasury
  • Overflowing Inventory

Stable Wood

Stable Wood is dropped by forest and grove cards.

Stable Wood is needed for almost anything in Loop Hero. You can get this Tier 2 resource material from stable branches and placing Forest and Grove Cards.

Fragment: 12 Stable Branches

Where to get:

  • Chest
  • Mimic
  • Flesh Golem
  • Scarecrow
  • Wooden Warrior

What are Fragments?

Tile cards can give you resources as well.

Fragments, more commonly known as Scraps, are incomplete versions of the whole resource. Fragments or Scraps are more commonly found throughout your playthrough compared to the Orb or whole resource material itself. You can use these fragments or scraps to create the whole resource needed for building and upgrading camps.
