Last month, The LEGO Group unveiled plans to introduce Donkey Kong to the Super Mario collection, and now they have provided a sneak peek of the sets we can expect to see this coming summer revealing some fun details.

The Danish toy manufacturer revealed the sets on their Twitter account, with the statement "We can’t wait to show you the new additions to the world of LEGO Super Mario™! 🤩". Since there is a disclaimer about sets being sold separately, we can assume there are multiple products incoming.
The brief 15-second clip showcases various Donkey Kong characters in brick form such as Diddy, Cranky, and Funky, accompanied by the tagline, "There’s a Kong in every kid." These are just sneak peeks of what will be included in the sets themselves.
Hopefully, we will be able to see additional DK LEGO sets before they become available in stores, including a Donkey Kong-themed set proposed by a fan and submitted as a LEGO Idea. As of writing, the proposal has garnered 5,370 supporters with 516 days remaining and requires 10,000 votes to have a chance of being produced as an actual set.
Created by Shigeru Miyamoto, Donkey Kong has consistently been one of the most beloved video game franchises since its first appearance in the eponymous game in 1981. The fictional gorilla has made numerous appearances in various games and films, most recently in Nintendo's successful animated film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Speaking of LEGO, 2K Games partnered with The LEGO Group last year to develop a series of Lego-based sports games, including the upcoming LEGO 2K Drive. As per a representative of 2K Games, the racing game will operate as a live-service game, featuring real money microtransactions.
LEGO 2K Drive is scheduled to be released on May 19 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
