New gameplay details emerge from leaked Tears of the Kingdom ad

After multiple delays, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will hit the store shelves on May 12.

Most likely, U.S. audiences will be able to watch the errant ads for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in a week or two.

Nintendo just can't seem to stop info about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom from leaking. Shortly after strong-arming GameStop to fire an employee responsible for an earlier leak as well as DMCA'ing a mod for The Legend of Zelda, much to the chagrin of the community. Now, not long since it released the final trailer for the Breath of the Wild sequel, we just got a boatload of new info about the follow-up from a leaked TV advertisement.

As is almost always the case with these leaks, the details come from the bowels of the internet, or Reddit, and we're pretty sure Nintendo is scrambling to find out the person behind this.

In summary, the live-action TV spot sees Link assemble a three-headed "Flame Gleeok", use unique arrows to light up a dark area, sport his classic green tunic, and go deep underground (the Z coordinate shows Link going as far down as -470).

Given that this is an "unfinished" version of an ad made specifically for U.S. audiences, those who live in North America will likely start seeing this TV ad for Tears of the Kingdom sooner rather than later.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the most expensive game on the Nintendo Switch at the moment.

Speaking of Tears of the Kingdom, fans are currently fawning over Ganondorf, who's making his first in-person appearance in a Zelda game in over a decade. Fingers crossed, Nintendo won't waste this opportunity and give the iconic villain more screen time, especially with a DLC for the game already confirmed. Finally, Illumination is reportedly working on a Zelda movie, which is probably a sure thing by now following the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
