Lady Thor is reportedly headed to Marvel's Avengers

Reports suggest that Marvel's Avengers' next playable character is Thor's former flame, Jane Foster.

Marvel's Avengers has never been the most successful nor relevant comic book video game around, but not for the lack of trying.

Lady Thor would be the 10th playable character for Marvel's Avengers.

For example, just as Spider-Man: No Way Home was about to release in theaters, Crystal Dynamics finally added the web-crawler to the game's list of playable characters. Now, it appears that Jane Foster is next on the menu.

According to Miller, Lady Thor, Jane Foster's superhero alter-ego, is coming to Marvel's Avengers. Furthermore, the content will launch sometime between June to September to coincide with Thor: Love and Thunder's theatrical release.

Marvel Studios and Square Enix never confirmed that Marvel's Avengers is connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it makes a lot of sense for Marvel's Avengers to try and time its releases with the MCU movies. Although this has only happened once with Spider-Man's aforementioned arrival in Marvel's Avengers, Square Enix might have seen enough encouraging signs to do it again with Jane Foster this summer.

The Japanese publisher previously expressed its disappointment with the game, so we're just as surprised that Crystal Dynamics is still working on Marvel's Avengers. Not only that, but Crystal Dynamics' Senior Brand Manager, Nick Edwards, recently promised that Marvel's Avengers is still getting more content this year.

Hopefully, Marvel's Avengers has a half-decent storyline planned for Lady Thor.

The current lull period in Marvel's Avengers since November 30 is one of the longest times in between new characters and meaningful expansions for the game, so we should start hearing more from Crystal Dynamics soon.

Unfortunately, if Lady Thor does arrive, fans will have to wait until at least June to get the new playable character, which is a long way to go. But, if Marvel's Avengers is timing upcoming character releases to their MCU counterparts, this bodes well for our previous report that She-Hulk is headed to the game as well.

For now, Marvel fans only have a few more weeks left of waiting to get their small-screen and big-screen fix. First up is Moon Knight, which will be dropping on Disney+ on March 30, followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6.
