We are only a few days away from the premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The upcoming Ant-Man movie will be the MCU debut of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.

At this point, fans already know that Kang poses a bigger threat to the universe than Thanos, the Mad Prince of Titan. Kang’s future technology allows him to not only travel through time, but also multiverses. However, Kang actor Jonathan Majors reveals that the MCU’s next big baddie is more than just a time-traveling warlord.
In a recent interview with i09, Majors revealed that Kang the Conqueror is a "Nexus being." In the MCU, Nexus beings are rare individuals who have the ability to alter the flow of the Universal Time Stream. These beings are so powerful that the Time Variance Authority keep watch over them as they can seriously mess up the sacred timeline.
"Who is Kang? I think that is a question that we will all be answering for a very long time," Majors said. "I think the quick answer to that is Kang is a time-traveling supervillain who is also a Nexus being, which leads to this idea of variants."
He adds, "There are multiple versions of Kang. ‘Versions’ being ‘variants.’ They occupy different universes, multiverses, they have different intentions. They are all different beings. And yet something that we’re still—and I’m still—working on, and continue to refine and refine and refine, is something that’s a through line between them. And that, to me, is the Kang gene in a nutshell."
Nexus beings have not yet been fully explained in the MCU. However, we do know that these beings can affect probability and the future. Two Nexus beings cannot inhabit the same plane of reality, and can only project themselves as apparitions in realms where another of these rare individuals resides.
Aside from Kang, there are only a few Nexus beings in the MCU. Wanda Maximoff became a Nexus being after reaching her full potential as the Scarlet Witch. It was demonstrated in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness how powerful she is; easily defeating an army of sorcerers and altering the multiverse to her liking.
Fans have also speculated that Loki may be a Nexus being. The God of Mischief and his other variant Silvie have caused several Nexus events. This warranted the attention of the Time Variance Authority and the Kang variant called He Who Remains. However, Loki has not gone on a rampage or shown how powerful he is in the MCU.
The revelation that Kang is a Nexus being does not bode well for Ant-Man and the rest of the Avengers. This means that Kang is capable of matching The Scarlet Witch, one of the most powerful beings inhabiting Earth-616, in terms of strength.
We will get to know the full extent of Kang’s powers in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which opens on Friday, February 17, 2023.
