John Wick director wants to work with Cillian Murphy and Christian Bale

Long-time series director, Chad Stahelski, will serve as a producer on the John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, with Ana de Armas in the lead.

John Wick: Chapter 4 debuted in theaters last Friday.

John Wick: Chapter 4 finally arrived in movie theaters last Friday, March 24. The well-reviewed film, which is the fourth in the Keanu Reeves-led action thriller series, is reportedly the last one in the franchise for a while.

It is also the best performer film in the franchise with a first-day gross of $29.4 million and mostly positive critics reviews with a series-high 95% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Chad Stahelski, who's directed every film in the franchise, was asked about the actors he dreams of working with to which he responded by saying:

If you told me Cillian Murphy was going to be in a John Wick movie, I'd be like, 'Oh my God!' If you told me Jackie Chan or Jet Li, or Jason Statham? If you said Stallone was going to make a cameo! I'm a little bit old school, so the dream list is, 'Clint Eastwood is going to make an appearance.' Christian Bale, Chris Hemsworth, or Hugh Jackman; Matt Damon and all these people that I love.

Stahelski revealed he's friends with Jason Momoa and dreams of working with him in the franchise as well. Finally, he disclosed that his dream of working with these actors goes beyond the John Wick universe, stating that "I'm a fanboy just like everybody else. If I could work with those people, I would."

Apart from Keanu Reeves, who reprises his role as the titular character, John Wick 4 features Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Ian McShane, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, and Shamier Anderson. The film also features Lance Reddick, who died earlier this month, in one of his final roles.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is one of the final appearances of the late Lance Reddick.

After John Wick 4, Stahelski will now turn his attention to Ballerina, a spin-off of the franchise, as one of its producers along with Erica Lee and Basil Iwanyk. Reeves will reprise his role as John Wick opposite Ana de Armas's Rooney. The film will also see Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Anjelica Huston reprise their roles from the John Wick series.

Reeves revealed, at the Brazil Comic Con experience in December, that Ballerina will be set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.

Ana de Armas, on her part, teased her fight scene in Ballerina with Reeves during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Blonde actress and Oscar Awards nominee tagged the scene as difficult and lauded Reeves’s performance stating that he never complains and "he truly is the best."

John Wick 4 is currently showing in theaters all around the world.
