It seems people cannot get enough of Keanu Reeves endless hordes of dudes - John Wick: Chapter 4 has been a critical and commercial success. The fourth installment of the series has received the highest review scores in the series. The movie also broke the series record for the highest box office earnings.

Audiences went all in for what is seemingly the last movie in the mainline series. John Wick: Chapter 4 had a massive opening weekend earning $137.5. The four-week total for the film is a massive $349.7 million which makes it the highest-grossing film in the John Wick series.

For comparison, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum grossed over $328 million at the box office. The fourth film surpassed the box office total of the first film which earned $86 million. John Wick: Chapter 4 also earned rave reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a franchise record 94% score. The third movie earned an 89% approval rating on the review site.

Fans applauded the fourth film for continuing to deliver fast-paced action and awesome fight scenes. The movie kept audiences at the edge of their seats for the three-hour theatrical run, another series record. Collider’s Ross Bonaime gave props to the movie saying it was "goofy, ridiculous, three-hours of fun that manages to not overstay its welcome" and pushing "ambition to the brink."

There are questions about the fifth movie of the John Wick franchise. However, Chapter 4 could be the final movie for the series - at least for now - as director Chad Stahelski wants to take a break before considering a fifth film.

Fans of the series will next see Keanu Reeves as John Wick in the spinoff movie Ballerina. The upcoming film stars Ana de Armas and will be set between the events of the third and fourth movies. There is speculation de Armas will be the successor of John Wick.

Donnie Yen, who played Caine in the fourth movie, is also interested in making a spinoff series. Reeves may reprise his role in the movie. Fans speculate that a spinoff for Yen will also involve Rina Sawayama. The post-credit scene sets up a face-off between Akira and Caine as the former seeks revenge for the death of her father.

A spinoff prequel series is also being developed and will star a younger version of Winston. The TV series will tell the origins of the New York Continental. Existing John Wick content, which includes comics as well, has set up deep lore around the High Table that can definitely tell more stories.

If John Wick: Chapter 4 ends up being the final mainline title, it ended the series with a bang. The movie was a fitting ending for John Wick and will be remembered as one of the best action movies of the decade.
